Gemini, one of the artificial intelligence models developed by Google, has been incorporated into the calendar component of Gmail. Users of Google Workspace with Gemini Add-ons can now make use of the AI powered Cycle queries accessed from within the Gmail web application. Users of Gmail can now click on the ‘Ask Gemini’ icon to control the calendar and other scheduling related activities and retrieve the necessary information concerning their plans using natural language.
For instance, if a user wishes to set a repeating event such as a yoga class every Monday and Wednesday at 9 am, they can tell Gemini to do so and it will do so immediately. This feature also helps in making the scheduling of appointments, booking of resources and looking up the availability of team members significantly easier.

Nonetheless, it is worth noting, some restrictions do apply: events cannot be edited with regard to their guests by Gemini integrating neither to internal nor external communication. Also, it cannot fetch event information embedded in emails, view any files attached to events, select room spaces for events, or carry out nesting of schedules such as when the best time to meet is, among other functions. This news suggestion is coming after Google has announced the earlier this month, the development of the Help Me Write and Polish features on the web version of Gmail, which incorporated more of Gemini, as Google is improving its Workspace with even better A.I. functionalities.
