What Gets Deleted When You Delete Your Telegram Account?
Once deleted, the following cannot be recovered:
- All messages in private chats — deleted from both sides

- Your profile photo, username, and bio
- All groups and channels you own

- Your phone number’s association with Telegram
Important: Deleting the Telegram app from your phone does not delete your account. Your account stays active on Telegram’s servers until you follow the steps below.
Method 1: Delete via my.telegram.org (Recommended)
This works on any device — phone, tablet, or computer — even if you have lost access to the app.
- Open any browser and go to my.telegram.org.
- Enter your phone number in international format (e.g. +91 98765 43210) and click Next.
- Telegram sends a verification code inside your Telegram app. Enter that code in the browser.
- Once logged in, scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account.
- Select a reason (optional), then click Yes, delete my account.
- Confirm once more. Your account is permanently deleted immediately.
Method 2: Delete via the Telegram App (iOS and Android)
